Lauch of innovative "Professional Development Award in Management of Positive Behaviour"


We are delighted to announce that The Richmond Fellowship Scotland has developed an innovative training course and professional award,  the"Professional Development Award in Management of Positive Behaviour". Anne MacDonald (pictured left), Manager of our Positive Behaviour Support Team, has led this achievement.

This course has been credited with 30 credits at Level 9 by Edinburgh Napier University. It has also been recognised by the Scottish Social Services Council as appropriate for managers' registration (15 management credits at Level 9). Successful candidates will receive a certificate from Edinburgh Napirer University.


This course is a managers' training programme in Positive Behaviour Support, for those managing services for people with a learning disability and/ or autism and challenging behaviour. It is a practice based course, with the general aim to improve services for individuals with challenging behaviour. The course will provide a blend of values, skills and knowledge to equip managers to work effectively and demonstrate their competence in managing and supporting their team. The training will be supported by materials, reading lists, technical support documents and by ongoing mentoring from members of our Positive Behaviour Support Team.
