New Chief Executive Announced

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland has announced the appointment of Austen Smyth as its new Chief Executive.

Mr Smyth joins The Richmond Fellowship Scotland from Fife Council where as Lead Officer for Supporting People, he led the development and implementation of the Supporting People initiative at both local and national levels. He has considerable experience of working in the Community Care field within local authorities, being a provider of Community Care services and a commissioner of services. He brings to The Richmond Fellowship Scotland a wealth of experience in this field as well as numerous contacts at the Scottish Executive, CoSLA and the Scottish Care Commission.

Austen commented: “I am particularly pleased to join The Richmond Fellowship Scotland as its new Chief Executive. This is a vibrant, energetic and most importantly value-based organisation. I see my role as building on the already significant contribution we make to the lives of vulnerable people. I want to continue our innovative and quality-driven approach and help develop new models of service delivery which put the people we support at the heart of the organisation.”

Austen Smyth replaces Peter Millar who takes up the post of Chief Executive at housing and personal development service provider, Aspire.
