The Richmond Fellowship Scotland today hosted a delegation of international mental health experts as part of this year's International Initiative for Mental Health Leadership (IIMHL) conference.
Chief Executive, Austen Smyth, chaired a day of presentations and debate with representatives from mental health organisations including Advance Housing and Support from Oxfordshire, The Richmond Fellowship (England), The Richmond Fellowship of Victoria, MCCH from Kent, Thresholds from Illinois and the Center for Mental Health in Indiana.
A number of personnel, including FOCUS Manager Susan McEntee, Quality Manager Ann McGuigan and Regional Manager Norah Smith, were on hand to outline some of the organisation's recent initiatives. Also present were Edie Gledhill, explaining her role as a FOCUS Co-ordinator, and one of the people we support in Fife describing their experiences after discharge from Stratheden hospital.
Commenting on the event, Austen Smyth, said:
"This leadership exchange event was a tremendous opportunity to bring together experts in the field of mental health provision to engage in real debate on critical issues. We hope that it can be the beginning of an ongoing dialogue and long-term partnership with these organisations.
"It was also a great opportunity for The Richmond Fellowship Scotland to showcase some of the innovative work we are involved with. The day was a great learning experience for everyone involved and a key part of this year's conference."
