Behaviour Support Team contributes to Children's Conference

The Richmond Fellowship Scotland's Positive Behaviour Support Team today presented at a conference hosted by Cerebra, an organisation which specialises in providing support and information for brain injured children and young people.

The conference was attended by a variety of professionals who work with children with learning disabilities and emotional difficulties. Cerebra were keen to share the Team's use of the Multi-element Model for assessment and treatment of challenging behaviour.

Behaviour Support Advisor, Linda Hume, who presented at the conference said:

"We are delighted that Cerebra invited us to share our experiences in the field of challenging behaviour with our fellow professionals. We demonstrated how our work with the Multi-element Model can be applied to children as well as adults and received a great deal of interest from the audience.

"Cerebra have invited us to another conference in April which focuses on stress and challenging behaviour aimed specifically at families and carers. We're happy to attend this event and support the important work that Cerebra do."

Cerebra works to ensure that up-to-date, evidence-based knowledge is available and applied for the prevention of brain damage and for proven treatments. In addition to the programme of research carried out at UK hospitals, universities and Cerebra's centre, Cerebra co-ordinates a 'Parent Support' department providing support, information and research. They also organise a wide range of training seminars, workshops and projects for parents, professionals and children themselves.
