The Richmond Fellowship Scotland is delighted to announce that it has successfully tendered for an important new care home service in Cambuslang.
The £1.6 million contract, one of the largest in the organisation's history, will see 12 individuals move from Kirklands Hospital in Bothwell to their new home. The innovative, new-build accommodation will comprise three sets of four self-contained flats, arranged around central courtyards, and will include facilities to enable staff to provide 24 hour support.
The emphasis will be on providing one-to-one support to the individuals, who have a variety of learning disabilities, mental health needs and autistic spectrum disorders. The service will employ over 70 members of staff and become our first service to employ nursing staff to meet the specialised needs of the people we support. Our Positive Behaviour Support Team will be involved from the start, supporting and training staff, and will maintain an active presence for at least the first year, providing specialised behavioural input to meet the particular needs of the people we support.
