TV's Kaye urges people to sign giveme5 petition

Television presenter Kaye Adams joined FOCUS Regional Coordinator Andrew Forbes to urge people to sign the giveme5 petition before the campaign ends next week.

Kaye, best known for her role as presenter on the daytime television show Loose Women, met the Stirlingshire-based Coordinator at the organisation's Glasgow head office. Over the past 18 months, Andrew and his colleagues have collected more than 3,500 signatures which they will hand over to Jo Swinson MP at Westminster on 27th March.

Commenting on the campaign, Kaye Adams said:

"There are currently a number of radical and controversial proposals being put forward by government to encourage people into work yet here is a perfectly straightforward and popular suggestion being sidelined. Increasing the earnings limit for people on incapacity benefits is not a dramatic or costly move but would be an extremely effective one in terms of rebuilding confidence and skills.”

There is still a week to go before the campaigners travel to London to hand over the petition. If anyone would like to support the campaign, they can sign the petition at www.trfs.org.uk/giveme5.
