Supported Living Services East Dunbartonshire is a large housing support service.

The staff are split into 3 teams to ensure consistency in the support we provide. Although we have 3 teams they all work together people we support can approach any staff member and get a response even if they are not in their particular team

We have recently increased the number of people we support and that has gone very well because staff are dedicated to their work, they are approachable and friendly. We encourage people to get involve in decisions regarding the service and feedback to them. The staff are all good at promoting independence and motivation.

The team is made up of 1 Team Manager 3 Senior Support Workers, 18 full time and 8 part time Support Assistants

We work with people with various illnesses such as mental health, learning disabilities, autism, visual impairment, addiction problems. older people with dementia-related illnesses and those with financial, employment and mobility difficulties

Some staff have worked at this service since it opened and have excellent skills and knowledge of the people we support, staff are trained in safer handling and autism awareness

We aim to deliver a high quality service with friendly and approachable staff. We will listen to what people want and provide as far as possible a person centred service

We have grown throughout the years and have established a good reputation for ourselves within the community also with families and all other relevant agencies

The service aims to promote people’s independence and assists people to achieve their potential, we deal with all aspects of daily living from; homecare, inclusion, planning and budgeting, emotional support, maintaining tenancies, assistance with medication, attending appointments etc.

Most of our referrals come through the Community Mental Health Team and the Joint Learning Disability Team at Social Work.

We will also accept individual referrals and direct payments.

We have assisted some people we support to started a warm welcome club for themselves, we assist them to get together for a social event on a monthly basis, this was devised from people
