Sector Leading Excellence!

Monday 17 June 2019

Congratulations to our East Renfrewshire Dementia Service who hosted a big celebration in April this year in recognition of picking up their fifth Glass House Award in a row.  This award was achieved by consistently being graded as “excellent” from the Care Inspectorate at their five most recent inspections.

Austen Smyth (CEO) presented the award to Kim Lochhead, Senior Support Worker, at the celebration held in Barrhead Health and Care Centre on Wednesday 10th April 2019.  They were joined by supported people, their carers and staff team who all enjoyed singing, dancing and a very tasty buffet lunch.

There was a celebration cake cut on the day by Maureen McBeth, in memory of her husband Ronnie who had been part of the service since 2017.

Kim said: “This was an important day for the Dementia Service and is evidence of all the great work the staff do for the people we support in ensuring quality support that is fun and much needed for everyone involved.”

Published earlier this year, the latest inspection report concluded that “the service was continuing to deliver outcomes for people using the service and showed sector-leading practice” and that “the management and leadership of the service was excellent.”
