Making positive changes!

Thursday 16 December 2021

At The Richmond Fellowship Scotland (TRFS) we recognise the complexities of people’s lives, the challenges they face and the contributions and worth they bring.

We want to ensure that people with complex needs, and their families, receive expert led support that really makes a positive difference to their lives.  That is why we have invested in the evidence-based model of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) through a team of dedicated Behaviour Support Advisors who provide direct support to the people we support and work closely with our managers and staff to ensure people with complex needs are supported to reach their full potential.

We rigorously monitor and evaluate the PBS supports we offer including setting ambitious Key Performance targets to reduce the frequency of behaviour of concern by at least 30% following intensive PBS input.

We believe that by listening to the people we support and focussing on achieving what matters to them has led us to achieving a 71% reduction in the frequency of behaviour within the first quarter of 2021.

To read how this has been put in to practice, please read Michael and Laura's stories on their amazing achievements.
